Dumisani Mukansi is the founder and CEO of Dugson, an ICT company that focuses on application delivery management solutions. Dugson uses automation to accelerate IT projects delivery, through DevSecOps, an orchestration that integrates the application delivery chain of technologies, from development, testing, deployment, and operations. Dugson’s services are inclusive of, software testing, cyber security, and artificial intelligence.
The Limpopo-born businessman, Dumisani Mukansi founded Dugson in 2012 and began operating in 2018 after realising a gap in the market, especially around skills, support, and maintenance. The company’s goal is to ensure that as solutions providers, they walk the journey with their clients and bring strategies that will improve ways of work while maintaining the best practices.
The name Dugson was inspired by his father after he took him to a site where he wanted to establish a business of car alignment which did not materialise, therefore he used his father’s name, Dugson as a gesture to ensure that his father’s dreams are realised.
The young businessman holds an IT qualification and grew through ranks in the IT sector, ranging from engineer to leadership positions.
Dugson through the expertise of Dumisani Mukansi has since broken boundaries in such a short period of time, procuring contracts with reputable organisations such as MTN SA, Woolworths SA, Metropolitan Health, Eskom, The South African Reserve Bank, South African Bank Note, GEMS, African Bank, and Bryte Insurance, just to name a few.
Despite, entry barriers which have been proven to be difficult to penetrate the market, especially as a small organisation Dugson has been able to capitalise on opportunities through partnerships.
“IT is a very broad domain. You need to pick an area of expertise and solely focus on it, you need to understand your product end to end and like any entrepreneur, focus, determination, and perseverance are key. Business is not the sun in the morning, it comes out and in the evening disappears just like business is up and down, only perseverance can carry you through.”, said the CEO, Dumisani Mukansi.
