The 2024 Sive Kiswa Tournament Was A Huge Success

Eastern Cape politician Sive Kiswa established the Sive Kiswa Tournament in 2022 to utilize sports to promote youth development and community involvement. Since then, teams from all around the region have come to play in sports like netball and soccer due to the tournament’s growing popularity. Not only does Sive Kiswa hold the Sive Kiswa Tournament in the Raymond Mhlaba Municipality, but it does so throughout the Eastern Cape. Competitors encourage unity and good sportsmanship among the local youth in addition to displaying their athletic abilities. These days, young athletes use the competition as a stage to demonstrate their abilities and perhaps even pursue careers in sports.

The Sive Kiswa Tournament, which was conducted in 2024, featured almost two hundred young athletes, including eighteen soccer clubs and eight netball clubs from Fort Beaufort. The success of the event has improved community relations while also providing the youth of Raymond Mhlaba Municipality with a positive means of staying involved in the community and engaging in healthy competition.

The director of the Sive Kiswa Tournament expressed gratitude by saying, “It feels great to be able to bring the youth together in a form of sports, especially in our communities where youth are deeply involved in drug abuse and criminal activities.” The competition not only promotes physical activity but also fosters teamwork and sportsmanship in participants, helping to steer children away from negative influences and toward a better future.” The increased sense of community and pride among the residents of Fort Beaufort is a glaring example of the tournament’s beneficial effects.

The Billy Rangers and Royal Bucks played in the soccer competition final in front of an excited crowd of about two thousand spectators. After a hard-fought contest, Billy Rangers won, showcasing the talent and dedication of our local youth athletes and claiming the title of 2024 champions. Cheaters and Teenagers squared off in the netball match’s finals, with Cheaters ultimately taking home the victory. Apart from exhibiting the youthful athletes’ abilities, the contest promoted collaboration and excellent sportsmanship among all participants.
