Watchable, but…
I had actually never heard about this 2025 thriller titled “Safe House” prior to sitting down to watch it. All I knew about it was that it was a thriller. But since I hadn’t already seen the movie before, of course, I would watch it, as I do believe in giving all movies a fair chance. Writer Leon Langford put together a pretty straightforward script, but it sort of went off the rails for me and my liking in entertainment. The narrative was a bit too far out there and not easily bought into, which made it rather unbelievable. There are some familiar faces on the cast list, with the likes of Ethan Embry, Lucien Laviscount, Lewis Tan and Brett Cullen. The acting performances in the movie were good, and that definitely added something to the movie and helped keep it afloat for me. Something that also helped keep the movie above water was the fact that there was a good amount of action in the movie, and the action sequences were nicely shot and executed on the screen. Hardly a movie that will grace my screen a second time. My rating of director Jamie Marshall’s 2025 thriller “Safe House” lands on a five out of ten stars. The movie is watchable, but nothing outstanding really.
