Today, adidas TERREX unveils four models to its speed-focussed Agravic range – built for the varying needs of its trail running community.
Fronting the range is the Agravic Speed Ultra 2 – the evolution of the Agravic Speed Ultra, adidas’ most innovative trail running shoe renowned for helping athletes earn podium finishes and records across the globe. First debuted in Chamonix this summer, the footwear is designed for ultra-distance trail racing and has been tested and refined alongside some of the world’s fastest trail running athletes. It features a series of technological enhancements built to offer more cushioning, comfort, grip and energy return than its predecessor including:
-
Enhanced foam for maximum cushioning – Featuring an updated softer Lightstrike Pro midsole paired with the proven exaggerated rocker shape and energy rods, the ASU2 delivers enhanced cushioning, a smoother ride, and increased energy return – designed to keep runners efficient and comfortable even over the longest distances.
-
Upgraded outsole for superior grip – Created to conquer varied terrain, the updated Continental outsole now boasts longer lugs compared to its predecessor – with an increased depth of 3mm and 4mm – providing enhanced traction across more diverse trail conditions.
-
Reengineered upper for ultimate fit & stability – The upper has been meticulously redesigned to provide a snug, secure and supportive fit with improved stability and heel comfort.

Speaking about the new Agravic range, Tom Louage, Global Sr. Product Director Footwear adidas TERREX said: “We know that trail running means different things to different people. For some, it may mean running fast across ultra-distances whilst for others, it could mean speed on those everyday trail runs. With our new-look Agravic range, we wanted to take our existing models – including the race-dominating Agravic Speed Ultra – and push the boundaries further to create products that match the needs of trail runners looking to go faster.”
Joining the Agravic Speed Ultra 2 in the Agravic range are the:
-
Agravic TT – an all-new model in the Agravic range, made for technical trail racing. Whether navigating rocky trails, steep descents or unpredictable surfaces, the Agravic TT provides the stability and confidence needed for fast, controlled runs in any condition. The footwear’s broader base ensures a more stable and secure ride while the dual-layer midsole, which combines Lightstrike Pro and Lightstrike+ provides optimal cushioning, durability and stability for technical trail races. This is complimented by a new durable and supportive upper, a rock plate for under-foot protection, and a multi-directional lug profile which offers the traction needed on technical terrain.
-
Agravic Speed 2 – built for shorter-distance competition where seconds and grams count. adidas’ lightest trail racing shoe yet, the footwear has been stripped down to the essentials to deliver a model that’s lighter and more secure and agile than its predecessor. The upper has been reengineered to provide enhanced stability while reducing weight, ensuring runners feel supported without slowing down. A lower-profile Lightstrike Pro midsole secured with a Lightstrike rim delivers a close-to-the-ground, agile ride – ideal for fast, short-distance trail runs with the right balance of cushioning and stability.
-
Agravic 4 – Designed to bring the thrill of fast running to everyone. Developed as a training shoe for the world’s top trail runners, this shoe balances performance, comfort and protection to meet the needs of a wide range of runners. The footwear features a softer Lightstrike+ foam compared to its predecessor, providing more cushioning for long trail sessions while a protective mesh layer keeps runners’ feet safe from debris without sacrificing comfort. A reengineered upper, which is softer than the one seen in its predecessor, offers an improved fit and greater comfort, while maintaining the same stability and protection in key areas for trail durability.
adiClub members get exclusive early access to the Agravic Speed Ultra 2 starting from December 2nd for a limited time via adidas.co.za/trail_running and the adidas app, giving the community a first chance to experience the next evolution in ultra-distance performance before the global launch in February ’26 which also sees the other models in the range introduced.
