A multi-venue music festival will take place across six locations in Cape Town’s city centre on 17 and 18 January 2026. The event, named Sheer City, has been organised through a collaboration between six local nightlife collectives and will feature international and South African electronic music artists.
The festival will operate across Harringtons, District, Surfa Rosa, Zer021 Social and The Electric in the Harrington Street precinct, as well as Texas in the City Bowl. Programming will run from daytime sessions through to early morning across the two days.
The organisers have stated that the festival has been designed as a walkable event, with attendees able to move between venues. Participating collectives include Sub Sahara, The Death of Glitter, Tropical Disko, CTEMF, Mila Rose & Friends and Bridges for Music. Each collective will operate within a designated venue.
International artists scheduled to perform include Horse Meat Disco, Freudenthal, Ante Perry, Tama Sumo and Lakuti. The lineup includes more than twenty South African artists across the six venues. Performance artists and installation work have been confirmed as part of the programme.
Saturday programming will commence at 14:00 at Texas and conclude at 04:00 across multiple venues. Sunday sessions will run from 14:00 at Texas and 18:00 at Harringtons, with Bridges for Music and Sub Sahara presenting house and Afro-centric music programming. Cape Town artist Esa has been confirmed as the Sunday headline act.
The organisers have indicated that the festival aims to bring together various music and performance communities operating within Cape Town’s nightlife sector. Venues will host distinct musical programming, with genres including disco, house, dub and electronic music represented across the event.
Tickets are available from R200 through the Airdosh ticketing platform.
